Get to know the Gems of Joslin’s!

For our first employee feature we’re focusing on Suzanne Kaemmer – otherwise known as “the glue who holds Joslin’s together!” As a member of the Joslin’s team for nearly 8 years, Suzanne is much more than just an employee, she’s family. Read more below.

  1. What is your position/role at Joslin’s? I’m not sure what my official title would be. I do a little bit of everything from sales, office management, shipping & receiving, ordering, pricing, customer service, inventory to polishing & cleaning jewelry.
  2. Why did you decide to join the Joslin’s team? My grandmother first introduced me to Joslin’s when they first opened their store at 95th & Antioch. I’ve never shopped at any other jewelry store! My mom worked at Joslin’s for about 20 years and I always enjoyed the friendly atmosphere when I visited. Before working at Joslin’s, I stayed home to raise my four children. I always had a special connection with Gary & Sarah as they were pregnant with Elicia when I was pregnant with my second. My third child also had a very special connection with Joslin’s store manager, Dave. Once my children were old enough, I decided to look into a part time at Joslin’s and I’m still here today!
  3. What’s your favorite part about your job? My favorite thing about my job would absolutely be the small family atmosphere. I truly enjoy going to work every day – Joslin’s is my happy place! We all get along well and are very happy to help each other. I also get the pleasure of meeting many people with all kinds of interesting stories. I love to see each customers’ face light up when they see their special pieces repaired or receive a beautiful piece that’s been reinvented.

  4. Suzanne’s Most Memorable Jewelry Piece

    What’s your most memorable piece of jewelry you’ve sold? My most memorable piece was a halo engagement ring my customer and I created. He had a vision and we worked together to make it a reality staying within his college student budget. It had 3 oval halos and was breathtaking.

  5. Any tidbits about yourself outside of work? In October my high school sweetheart and I are celebrating our 30-year anniversary! We have four children – Kassidi (27), Cody (24), Mackenzie (21) and Cooper (18). I love to vacation at the beach, pool or lake and relax in the sun with a good book or magazine. In my free time I love shopping, decorating, DIYs, eating out, watching movies and spending time with my family and friends.
